So Nonno has to go on a diet…

So, I’m in my doctor’s office the other day and he gives me the bad news… I’m .1 point over the limit for type 2 diabetes. That’s right. I’m 6.5 and 6.4 is the top of the range for “normal”. I tried explaining that I’ve NEVER been normal (my kids will swear to that ๐Ÿ˜‰ but he doesn’t buy it. So…. on to a diet plan Nonno goes! ๐Ÿ™‚ Rather than jump on to just any ol’ diet, I decided to get back on to the Zone diet. I had used it back in the day and was actually losing inches – you lose inches before you lose pounds (or kilos if you live outside the US). I figured if it worked then when I was only 200, it should work now that I’m no longer 200 ;p

For those who are not familiar with the Zone diet, it was developed by Dr. Barry Sears way back in the 80’s and 90’s. It works at the hormonal level and has been used successfully to control insulin as well as, insulin related irregularities. After reviewing all the available material, I opted for two of Dr. Sears’ books. They are: A Week in the Zone: A Quick Course in the Healthiest Diet for Youย and Zone Meals in Seconds: 150 Fast and Delicious Recipes for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner (Zone (Regan)).

I’ll keep you posted.

Upcoming Stories

One of the great things about being an independent author is the ability to publish as quickly as I have completed my next story. No waiting for a “Publisher” to decide whether or not my stories fit in with their product line. That means as soon as I can get the images drawn, I can release the following stories:

Harvey Rumplemeyer and David and Goliath
Lili McGriffin and the Pyramids of Egypt
Cowboy Bob and the Grousemongrel
Little Sally Sea Shell
Lily Mcgriffin and the Lost City of Atlantis
The Fairy Godmother

Drawing the images is half the fun of writing the stories! And sharing those images with my grandkids and watching as their imaginations kick in, makes the whole process one of the best experiences on earth!
